The PC-1 was the first system from Commodore targeted for the x86 platform. The PC-1 is an entry level system. The mainboard features 4 additional DIL-sockets for expansion to 640 kB RAM. It has also a socket for a 8087 FPU. Video is generated by the Motorola 6845 CRT controller and the Paradise Video Chip 2 (PVC2) that supports CGA as well as plantronics video mode. The whole systems comes with an internal 5 1/4" DD disk drive, however there is also a custom connector (lower left corner) where a external Amiga drive can be connected. The PPC1 chip from Paradise controls the parallel port and the WD8250 chip from WDC is for the serial port. The mainboard has no ISA expansion slots and no built-in IDE controller for hard drives.
