The early FireGL cards were developed by FGL Graphics a S3 Division and sold e.g. by SPEA Software AG. In 1999 Diamond Multimedia merged with S3. In 2000 Diamond Multimedia formed SONICBlue and in spring 2001 ATi bought SONICBlue including the FireGL section.

The card runs exclusivly in 32 bit modes only. The NT4 driver requires minimum SP6. Case cooling recommended.
