The Sound Blaster AWE64 is capable of Stereo playback at 44 kHz 16 bit.
This card has DSP 4.13. The EMU8000 part has 512kB RAM and brings 1 MB ROM with uncomressed samples. The card has a proprietary connector for memory upgrade. Up to 32 MB RAM can be expanded (28 MB useable). There is no waveblaster connector. FM synthesis is provided through Creatives own CQM method.
The card is similar to the CT3670 without SIMM slots. The AWE64 came with an additional software synthesizer called WaveSynth that ran exclusivly on Intel Pentium CPUs.
