S3s last and greatest? reincarnation of the ViRGE core. The Trio3D is a rework of the ViRGE/GX2 with a 128 bit engine, better feature support (texturing from system memory, multiplicative alpha blending, reflection maps) but performance still on the level of the GX2. VESA mode support is very good with 8/15/16/24/32 bit modes including the low-res ones. With 4 MB this card can do 1280x1024 at 24 bit with 85 Hz or 1600x1200 at 16 bit with 85 Hz.
